Monster Mash Flash Fiction Challenge

Are you ready for spooky tales and scary writing? It’s the Monster Mash 2019 Flash Fiction Challenge and the ghouls are waiting…

So what do you need to get your fright on?

  • This is a flash fiction challenge so the writing must be new, rather than revamped older writing (see what I did there?)
  • Links to your tales accepted October 14-25
  • 500 word minimum / 750 word maximum.
  • Use hashtags #MonsterMash2019 and #FabFourFlash to share this event and your tales.
  • First Place and Second Place will win Amazon gift cards, $10 and $5 respectively.
  • Link to your site and your tale via the Linky Tool below

And now the inspiration to bring out the best spooky stories. Choose one of the following quotes from the Fab Four’s favorite horror movies.

“But it ain’t me you gotta worry about now.” – Riddick, Pitch Black

“I don’t like when he walks around at night.” – Foster Lambert, Insidious

“Do not read the Latin.” – Marty, Cabin in the Woods

“We’ve got to hide all of the sharp objects.” – Tucker, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

Just a couple of guidelines to make this easier:

  • Tales must be Halloween/Monster/Horror related. They can be scary, funny, romantic, macabre, but they have to relate back to the monster theme.
  • Be sure to include your word count on your tale’s post.
  • Winners announced and prizes awarded on October 30th.
  • Winners will have 72 hours to claim their prize.

Remember to add your blog link into the Linky Tool and post your tale on your blog.

So ready, set, write those Monster Tales!
